Microneedling in Edmonton
Microneedling is one of the most effective skin treatments available, and one of the most underrated. It works by triggering your skin's own repair process, building new collagen and elastin from within. The result is skin that looks healthier, smoother, and more radiant. At The Klinik, every microneedling treatment is performed by Heyam Tarrabain, RN, with the same clinical precision she brings to every injectable treatment.
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, uses a device with fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the surface of the skin. These micro-injuries are small enough to be safe and manageable, but significant enough to trigger the skin's natural healing response.
That healing response is the point. As the skin repairs itself, it produces new collagen and elastin, two of the proteins responsible for skin firmness, elasticity, and overall quality.
Over a series of treatments, this process meaningfully improves the texture, tone, and appearance of the skin.
Microneedling is suitable for most skin types and tones and can be used on the face, neck, and body. All microneedling treatments at The Klinik begin with a thorough consultation with Heyam Tarrabain, RN.

Everything You Need to Know About Microneedling
How Does Microneedling Work?
The microneedling device creates thousands of tiny, controlled punctures in the skin's surface. This triggers the body's wound-healing cascade, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin. As that new tissue forms and matures over the weeks following treatment, the skin gradually becomes firmer, smoother, and more even in texture and tone. The improvement is real and lasting because it comes from within the skin rather than from an external product sitting on top of it.
When Will I See Microneedling Results?
Some clients notice an immediate glow in the days following treatment as the skin begins its healing response. More significant improvement in texture and tone becomes visible over 4 to 6 weeks as new collagen matures. Results continue to improve with each subsequent session. Patience is part of the process, and the results are worth it.
Is Microneedling Safe for All Skin Types?
Microneedling is generally safe for all skin types and tones, including darker skin tones where some laser treatments carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Heyam will assess your skin and medical history at your consultation to confirm suitability. Microneedling is not performed on active acne breakouts, open wounds, or certain skin conditions.
How Many Microneedling Sessions Do I Need?
Most clients see meaningful improvement after a single session, but a series of treatments delivers the best long-term results. Three to six sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is a typical starting recommendation, depending on your skin concerns and goals. Acne scarring and significant texture concerns generally benefit from more sessions than general skin quality maintenance. Heyam will give you a realistic treatment plan at your consultation.
How Long Do Microneedling Results Last?
The collagen that microneedling stimulates is your own, which means it behaves like your own tissue. Results are not permanent since the natural ageing process continues, but they are long-lasting. Most clients maintain their results with one to two treatments per year after completing their initial series. Individual results vary.
Is Microneedling Painful?
A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment and left on for 20 to 30 minutes. Most clients find the treatment very tolerable with numbing in place. Sensation varies by area, with the forehead and bony areas being slightly more sensitive. Most clients describe it as a mild scratching feeling rather than pain.

What to Expect at Your Microneedling Appointment

02
SKIN PREPARATION
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied. You will wait 20 to 30 minutes for the numbing to take full effect before treatment begins.

06
RESULTS TIMELINE
Initial glow within a few days. Texture and tone improvement visible at 4 to 6 weeks. Results continue to build over the following weeks and with subsequent sessions.
Microneedling for Acne Scars in Edmonton
Acne scarring is one of the most common reasons clients seek microneedling at The Klinik, and one of the areas where results can be most meaningful.
Microneedling works on acne scars by breaking down scar tissue and stimulating the production of new collagen to replace it. Over a series of treatments, depressed scars gradually become shallower, skin texture evens out, and post-inflammatory pigmentation fades.
Results take time and consistency. Most clients with acne scarring benefit from a series of 4 to 6 sessions. Heyam will give you an honest assessment of what is realistic for your specific scarring at your consultation.
