Restoration,
Not Renovation
Renovation starts with a problem. Restoration starts with potential.
At The Klinik, we are not in the business of fixing what is wrong with your face. We are in the business of revealing what was always right about it.
What restoration looks like in practice.
Restoration is not passive. It is not simply leaving things alone and hoping for the best. It requires expertise, precision, and a genuine understanding of what you are working with.
Restoring the Oblates Mansion required knowing which materials to use, which techniques to apply, and crucially, when to stop. The same is true in medical aesthetics. Knowing how much to do is as important as knowing how to do it.
Knowing when a face is right is as important as knowing what to add.
At The Klinik, every treatment is calibrated to the individual. Not to a trend. Not to a look. To the specific face in front of us, and what that face needs to look like itself again, only more rested, more defined, more like it did a few years ago.
The results should be undetectable. Not because we did nothing, but because we did exactly the right things, in exactly the right amounts, in exactly the right places.

Who We Are For
The Klinik is for people who want to look like themselves.
Not a younger version of themselves. Not a filtered version of themselves. Not someone else's version of beautiful. Themselves, restored, refreshed, and confident in a face that is still recognizably their own.
It is for people who want a clinician, not a salesperson. Who want honest advice over a full treatment menu. Who value expertise over trends, and results over volume.
It is for people who understand that the best aesthetic outcome is the one nobody can quite put their finger on. You just look well. You just look rested. You just look like you. Which, it turns out, is exactly what you were all along.

Our building taught us everything we needed to know.
The Klinik is located inside the Oblates Mansion; a heritage landmark in the heart of downtown Edmonton, built in 1899.
When we chose this building, we chose it knowing it would ask something of us.
The windows alone took eight days each to restore. Eight days per window. Not because we had to. Because replacing them with something new would have meant losing something irreplaceable. The original glass. The original craftsmanship. The character that 125 years of history had given them.
We could have replaced them in an afternoon. But they would not have been the same windows.
That choice, to restore rather than replace, to honour what exists rather than override it, is the same choice we make for every client who walks through our doors.
Your face has history. It has character. It has decades of expression and experience written into it. Our job is not to erase that.
Our job is to help you look like the best version of yourself; restored, not renovated.

Meet Heyam Tarrabain, RN
Heyam did not come to aesthetics from a beauty background. She came from medicine. And that distinction matters more than almost anything else when you are deciding who to trust with your face.
Over thirty years of clinical nursing across psychiatry, oncology, hematology, rural emergency medicine, and primary care. Thirty years of working with patients in some of the most demanding, high-stakes environments in healthcare. Thirty years of learning to read people, to listen carefully, and to understand that the most important thing a clinician can offer is not a treatment. It is trust.
In 2012, Heyam discovered medical aesthetics, and recognized something in it that most people miss. Not a cosmetic industry. A meeting point between science, wellness, and confidence. A discipline with the capacity to help people age purposefully and on their own terms.
She founded The Klinik on that belief. That medical aesthetics, done with genuine clinical expertise and genuine human care, can be genuinely life-changing.
What Heyam brings to every appointment.
Heyam is a pharmaceutical medical educator and a mentor to future nurses at the University of Alberta. She approaches every client the way she approaches every student with patience, with honesty, and with a commitment to doing things properly rather than quickly.
She advocates for personalised patient journeys. Not protocols. Not packages imposed from the outside. Real plans built around real people, with real conversations about what is possible, what is appropriate, and what will genuinely serve you well.
When Heyam recommends a treatment, it is because she has assessed your face thoroughly and genuinely believes it is the right choice for you. When she says no to something, that matters too.
