Lip Filler in Edmonton
Lip filler is one of the most requested treatments at The Klinik, and one of the most misunderstood. Done well, nobody should be able to tell. You just look like you, with a little more volume and definition. Done poorly, it's obvious. The difference is almost entirely in the injector. Heyam Tarrabain, RN brings over 30 years of clinical nursing experience and a genuine eye for facial proportion to every lip filler appointment in Edmonton.
What Is Lip Filler?
Lip filler is a cosmetic injectable treatment that uses hyaluronic acid to add volume, improve definition, and correct asymmetry in the lips.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the body, which makes it well-tolerated, natural-feeling, and fully reversible if needed.
The results are immediate. Most clients leave their appointment with lips that look fuller and more defined, while still looking entirely natural on their face. Swelling in the first 24 to 48 hours is normal. Final results are best assessed at 2 weeks once everything has settled.
At The Klinik, lip filler is never about making your lips look bigger. It is about making them look better, balanced, defined, and proportionate to the rest of your face.
What Can Lip Filler Treat in Edmonton?

Lip filler is more versatile than most people realise. Common treatment goals include:
-
Adding volume to thin or flat lips
-
Improving definition along the lip border and cupid's bow
-
Correcting lip asymmetry
-
Lifting a downturned mouth
-
Softening fine lines around the lips (smoker's lines)
-
Restoring volume lost with age
-
Improving overall lip shape and proportion
Heyam will assess your lips, your facial proportions, and your goals at your consultation before any product is placed.
Client Results
Individual results vary and cannot be guaranteed. Photos are of real clients shared with their written consent. Results depend on individual factors including age, lip anatomy, skin condition, and the amount of product used. All treatments shown were performed following a complete medical consultation. Everything You Need to Know About Lip Fillers
How Does Lip Filler Work?
Hyaluronic acid filler is injected into specific areas of the lips using a fine needle. The product adds volume, defines the border, and improves shape immediately. Because hyaluronic acid attracts water, the lips feel soft and natural rather than firm or overfilled. The product integrates with your tissue over the first couple of weeks, after which the result settles into its final appearance.
How Long Does Lip Filler Last?
Most clients find lip filler lasts 6 to 12 months however, everybody will metabolize product differently. Lips are a high-movement area, which means product breaks down faster here than in lower-movement areas like the cheeks or jawline. With regular treatments over time, some clients find their results start to last a little longer. Individual results vary and cannot be guaranteed.
Are There Any Risks?
As with any injectable treatment, there are risks. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, and tenderness, all of which are temporary. More serious complications are rare but possible, which is why choosing an experienced, medically trained injector matters. Heyam will walk you through the full risk profile at your consultation so you can make an informed decision.
How Much Lip Filler Do I Need?
Less than most people think. At The Klinik, Heyam takes a conservative approach, especially with first-time clients. Starting with less and adding more at a follow-up appointment is always safer than overfilling from the start. The amount used depends on your starting point, your goals, and your facial proportions. Heyam will walk you through her recommendation at your consultation.
Can Lip Filler Be Dissolved?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved at any time using hyaluronidase. The Klinik keeps hyaluronidase on hand at all times. If you are unhappy with a result, whether from a treatment at The Klinik or from a previous injector, book a consultation to discuss your options.

What We Do
01
CONSULTATION
Heyam assesses your lip anatomy, facial proportions, and goals. She will recommend a product, an amount, and a placement plan before anything is agreed. First-time clients are encouraged to start conservatively. No pressure. No obligation.
02
NUMBING
A topical numbing cream is applied and left on for 15 to 20 minutes before any injections begin. Most clients find this makes a significant difference to their comfort during treatment.
03
TREATMENT
The appointment itself takes 20 to 30 minutes. Heyam uses a fine needle to place precise, small amounts of product into targeted areas of the lips. She will assess shape and symmetry throughout the treatment, not just at the end.
04
AFTERCARE
Some swelling is completely normal and expected, particularly in the first 24 to 48 hours. Your lips will look fuller than the final result during this time. Avoid judging your results until the 2 week mark.
05
RESULTS
At 2 weeks the swelling has fully settled and your final result is visible. Heyam recommends a follow-up at this point for first-time clients to assess the result and determine whether any refinement is needed.
